My name is Rick Heitzmann. I am the co-founder and Managing Director at FirstMark Capital, a $2 billion venture capital firm based in New York City. My investment focus is emerging media and advertising and data and information services. Prior to FirstMark, I was an entrepreneur within the data and information services and consumer internet sector at US Search (NASDAQ: SRCH). US Search became First Advantage (NASDAQ: FADV), where I was a founder and member of the senior executive team. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors of Clickable (simple online advertising), Live Gamer (enabling virtual economies), Riot Games (online developer and publisher of video games) and weplay (the home for youth sports) as well as advising a number of seed investments.
I am passionate about entrepreneurship, the way the Internet-based services are changing businesses and consumers’ lives, the movies, Philadelphia sports teams and swimming with my 5-year old son.
